Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 14
Day 14 of the shelter in place ordinance here in Santa Cruz consisted of a mixture of housework and outside fun! I took full advantage of the extra time and cleaned out the area underneath the kitchen sink. When was the last time you cleaned under your sink? And I even was able to fix the vent cover on my refrigerator. It’s been flapping around for years and I never had the time to fix it, until now.
After all the cleaning and fixing productivity, I was able to get outside with Ellia! We played some basketball with the new hoop that her and Danny were able to assemble. And then we practiced juggling with some lemons that we picked off our tree! It was so nice getting some quality time with my girl. What was the best part of your weekend?
I personally love the weekends because Danny normally makes the most delicious breakfasts. This weekend he made cinnamon toast pancakes and of course, coffee. He kept the momentum going and made some delicious dinners as well. Danny loves cooking for our family on the weekends, since he has more time to do so. He likes to refer to this as “restaurant meal” days. It is simply the best.
Also, should I cut Danny’s hair on film? It’s starting to get a little long. I’m not sure if he’ll let me, because of what happened last time…but maybe he will let Ellia cut it instead!
I hope that you are your family had a wonderful weekend together. What have you been doing to keep everyone entertained during this time? Are you creating new games? Are you doing a ton of housework and craft projects? I’d love to hear from you and get some ideas.
Stay Well & Stay Tuned for what we get into on Day 15 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz, California!
If you are within the at-risk population and are in need of essentials during this time, please reach out to me. I’d be happy to deliver food and supplies to your doorstep.
And if you’re a local Santa Cruz business owner, how can my family and I support you during this pandemic? I’d love to come by and film and feature you on an upcoming video!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!

That was in Ellia’s nose. In joke and Dad said oh it’s a good joke, I love chicken jokes. What was the joke? Why do you think the chicken crossed the road? And what was the answer? To get to the other side. Oh that’s hilarious, did Dad just make breakfast for us? Oh dang, there is chicken eggs. That’s gorgeous Mmm hmm. Thanks babe, and the coffee, oh, this is like stunning. What is Sunday? Sunday is restaurant meal day. It looks like a restaurant meal. What is it? Like a chicken hash? With egg. Yup. And my beloved coffeeee! Coffeeee! Mmm, hot and delicious, mmm, mmmm! Mmmm, mmmm.
So being the control freak that I am, I like to have everything in its place and everything clean and tidy, all the time and when we get really busy it’s hard to keep up with that, though I do have help and I feel really grateful to have help. But right now since we can’t, I’m going to bust some major behind and I’m about to clean underneath the sink. Like when was the last time you all cleaned underneath your sink? I don’t get around to doing that very often but I have to tell you that it’s gonna make me feel really good. I’m gonna show you the final product when it’s done too. See you soon.
No, but seriously when is the last time you vacuumed underneath your sink, in your stove, underneath your cabinets, it’s been way to long. This is seriously, seriously a need that has to happen. Get it done! Well it’s definitely stained under there but it’s also cleaned out. You can see that we did once have a water leak but we fixed it and we lined it, but if you know anybody who builds cabinets, maybe send them my way, because maybe it’s time to redo our kitchen. Hmm, Danny, Danny!
So much better, plus now I know where everything is and I know what I have and I don’t have, and what I need to order. I thought I needed new dish soap but I have a full bottle right there. So I don’t need new dish soap and I don’t need new furniture polish, and I don’t need any Ajax, and I don’t need sponges. I love organization.
So one of my secrets is I tell Danny I don’t know to deal with the cast iron pan because it’s annoying to me, but I’m actually greasing it right now, I just cleaned it the appropriate way and now I’m greasing it the appropriate way, so that we can use our cast iron pan because we like to cook with it, but do not tell him, do not tell Danny that I know how to clean it and grease it. I’m vacuuming everything.
So the vent cover on the fridge or freezers been hanging off, every time I sweep, or vacuum, or clean, it just flops around, it’s been like that I would say for as long as we’ve had this refrigerator, which I can’t even tell you how long that’s been. Probably time for a new refrigerator, but this is the first time I’m actually going to attempt to fix it, I don’t know if I’ll be able to but why have I not tried to fix it before has always bugged me, well here we go. Think it’s working. Look at that, now this little weird vent cover is secured in place. Wahoo, now defrosting the freezer, so that it will close and actually work
. Even Danny is succumbing to the technology necessary to conduct business today, check this out. Oh god I just ran into the countertop. Hey can you guys give me some respect here. Hey there Tom, So, uh, yeah, so we had kinda from an early age I was just in the wood shop doing things, there’s building with blocks or, you know, later on we started making things, when I was probably like, I don’t know five.
Who thinks I should cut Danny’s hair on film? Show us your hair, Danny. It’s getting a little bit shaggy. What happened last time I cut your hair? I got teased for months I’m not letting you cut my hair. What about Ellia? I would rather have a mane, then let you cut my hair. Have Ellia, she can cut it for you. Ellia, yeah and she will. Okay, convince her.
Alright, here we go, going to kick Ellia’s butt at b-ball. Oww. No fouling. No! Was that in? Why is there a strawberry in your nose? You have to see this, this is crazy. this strawberry was in Ellia’s nose. Do you think they can see it? That was in Ellia’s nose. Okay, ready.
When life gives you lemons, what do we do, what do we do Ellia? Juggle.
Who says? So we made beans with, we made chicken stock and then we made our… Oh those look good. We made our beans in the chicken stock. Yum! It’s going to be really warm. Mmm ,that’s perfect. Nice task. Mmm, this looks amazing. It Is. Aww mm.
