Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 15

Day 15 of the Shelter in Place Ordinance marked the start of a new week. Since it was a Monday, I had quite a few phone call meetings. After the morning meetings were done, I quit my procrastinating and finally took my “Economic Trends in California Real Estate” test in preparation for my Broker’s State Exam! And I passed! So two tests down, three to go! I’m thrilled, and now I’m moving on to the next one. Education and knowledge is power!

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 15

Danny’s hair has been getting pretty long and shaggy during the Shelter in Place Ordinance. Of course, his normal routine is to get his hair cut by Meredith, but her salon is currently closed. Danny wouldn’t let me cut his hair, because he got teased last time I cut it. However, he did let Ellia give him a hair cut. Apparently he trusts her more than he trusts me! You’ll have to see how it turned out. Would you let your daughter  or spouse cut your hair? And how are you keeping yourself groomed during this pandemic?

Then a really cool thing happened. I am a firm, firm believer in affirmations and positive thinking, and the law of attraction. I was going through it looking for an old notebook so that I could put all of my notes together so that they’re all clear and concise in one spot. And I found my goals in my notes from the beginning of last year, and two of them were get a coach, get a business coach, and get an assistant. And I did both of those, so that’s really cool. So I’ve written down what my goals are for this year. And obviously things have changed as far as our daily lives and what’s going on right now with COVID-19 and the economy, and our communities and stuff like that. But I am still fulfilling my goals and my dreams, and that is by being a community resource, and being a leader, and being a positive light in people’s lives. And serving our community, and serving my clients, so that feels really good.

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 15But I just wanted to say that the power of affirmation and law of attraction is a real, real thing. So the other thing that I had put on my goal list for last year was to close 24 deals, and by the end of the year I closed 24 and a half deals. So write it down, and take the steps that you need, the action steps that you need to fulfill them. And if you want to chat with me about how I can support you in fulfilling your goals and dreams, reach out to me, I’m here for you. And I would love to make an action plan with you, on how to fulfill your dreams.

If you are within the at-risk population and are in need of essentials during this time, please reach out to me and I’d love to bring food and supplies to your doorstep. If you are a Santa Cruz business owner, let me know how my family and I can support you during this time. I’ll even come by and take some photos and video for future posts!

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 15For example, I went by a local Westside Santa Cruz bakery yesterday called Companion Bakeshop. In my opinion they make the absolute best fresh bread. They converted their Westside Location storefront to be Coronavirus Spread-Friendly, and added a pickup and order window. At the window one can order pastries, bread, or specialty coffee. Or you can call ahead or order online and come pickup. Companion is also offering a “Shelter Box” which includes gluten free pastries, loaves of bread, milk, Cat & Cloud Coffee, and more. You can design your own, order it online, and pick it up. Their current hours are 8am-2pm daily.

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 15If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.

With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.

If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!

Stay Well & Stay Tuned for Day 16 of the Shelter in Place Ordinance!

Don’t make her nervous, Shemeika! I’m trying not too. I’m like giggling inside, though. You’re like tapping me! I can feel you tapping her!

Good morning, I have been up early. It’s a Monday, it’s Cesar Chavez day, which I think generally we wouldn’t have school today, but Ellia is logged into school, she’s logged into class. I’m having my second cup of coffee. I am dressed to go work out because I’m gonna work out today, and I have a nine o’clock meeting, and a 10 o’clock meeting, and I am going to bite the bullet and take my next brokers’ exam which will be on California Real Estate Trends. California fin real es, no, “California Financing Trends”. Gosh, I hope I do better on the exam than I do on the title of the book. Uh, wish me luck!

I passed! How many more to go? I think I have three more to go. Whoo, whoo, whoo! “Economic Trends in California Real Estate,” check, done! Okay, I’m super excited I’ve been studying and reading the, “California Economic Trends” book so that I could take my test for my second test in the series of five before I get to take the state exam. And I don’t know why I’ve had such a mental block, but I’ve just been procrastinating, and procrastinating, and procrastinating, and I finally took it, and I passed, and I’m thrilled, and now I’m moving on to the next one. Education and knowledge is power. Power! Right Danny? Mm-hmm. That’s right. We like to educate ourselves, here at Fox Realty Group.

I am about to go and work out, and my darling Ellia is cleaning the bathrooms. She’s really working hard to earn money. She has a goal of getting to $100 by when’s your goal, Ellia? I already did my goal by Monday. By Monday? How much? $100. You got $100? Serious? Look at my board. Dang, she got $100, oh, that’s her. And my goal is to get another $100 by Friday. Another $100 by Friday? And then, Wow! That’s pretty good, she’s pretty industrious. Good job, Ellia. Okay, I’m gonna go work out now, five o’clock. Cutting this shaggy man’s hair. Thank the Lord. With barber Ellia. Oh, so excited.

What are you going for? He trusts you more than he trusts me. Oh, let’s do it. Okay, let’s go. Why are you jumping? I’m scared! Follow the hairline. Okay yeah, don’t dip it. Don’t dip it like this, keep it nice and straight. Can I go like right there? Go for it, try it. Can I change it? Can I tell you all my life problems like I tell Meredith? Can I complain about Mom to you while I get my hair cut? You better not! You’re brave, Danny. I shouldn’t have done, you told me to do the top! Yeah, well doesn’t he want the top done? Gonna have to do it all. It’s a good thing you’re a boy. She’s the artist. I know, doesn’t feel like you got anything over here. I got like a cowlick this big. I was trying to tell– I wish that that thing was over here. I’m always trying to tell Meredith, “Hey could you get this cowlick right here?” And then she says, “No, I got it,” but then it pops up when I get home. Hmm, it’s a strange cut, isn’t it? Mom’s decision! Hmm. I wasn’t gonna shave the top! Well, I thought you were supposed to do the thing! I know! Hmm. Oh no? Well I can see that I’m losing my hair. Should she do your eyebrows? No! I do have a special thing for my eyebrows but, well that’s a bummer.

So a really cool thing just happened, and I am a firm, firm believer in affirmations and positive thinking, and the law of attraction. I think I’ve mentioned that a few times before and had conversations with many of you about it. But I was actually just going through my briefcase and don’t date me, I know, it’s weird, I have a briefcase. One day I’ll show it to you. But I carry my computer, and my books, and my notes in it, and I was going through it looking for an old notebook so that I could not archive, what is it called when you put all of your notes together so that they’re all clear and concise in one spot? I don’t even know what the word is. You figure out the word and let me know. And I found my goals in my notes from the beginning of last year, and two of them were get a coach, get a business coach, and get an assistant. And I did both of those, so that’s really cool. So I’ve written down what my goals are for this year.
