Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 23

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 23Day 23 of the Shelter in Place order here in Santa Cruz consisted of another day of working from home and face mask making! We had two new orders, when we woke up, for masks so Ellia went straight from the bedroom to her sewing machine. After this quarantine, I’m gonna be broke and Ellia’s gonna have all my money. Danny is helping her with the liners, donating some of his old t-shirts for the cause. And I am in charge of her book keeping. It’s a whole family production! Reach out to me if you would like to purchase a mask made by Ellia too!

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 23Ellia is also still trying to make money by doing a ton of household chores. On Tuesdays, we normally have our house cleaned while we are out and about. But since the Shelter in Place Order, we haven’t been able to have the cleaners over. So Ellia offered to clean the entire house, at the same level as our cleaners, for money. And we agreed to have her compensation for household chores based on the task and how well she cleans. That way, she’s more motivated to do a really good and thorough job.

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 23Also, my friend, Monique, baked and decorated some adorable Easter cookies and delivered them to us.  It was incredibly sweet and definitely brightened our day. So, Ellia is going to make face masks for her family in return. I love how kindness is spreading during these trying times.

Stay tuned for the 24th day of the Shelter in Place order here in Santa Cruz!

I also want to keep you guys informed about what’s going on in the real estate market and share with you some articles that I found very interesting. I’ve been getting a lot of questions about is it a good time to buy? Is it a good time to sell real estate right now? Amidst the the pandemic, and truth be told, the right time is when it’s right for you and nothing or nobody should be able to dictate that. When it is time to buy, you’ll know it, when it’s time to sell, you’ll know it.

That said, we as an industry are up and running, we are prepared to serve our clients’ needs. We have things like drive-thru title and escrow, which I found very interesting and I’ve included that article here. Santa Cruz County real estate is considered an essential, so we are allowed to show homes that are vacant as long as we follow CDC guidelines and as long as the buyer is pre-approved and also has already reviewed the photos, the virtual video tour, and is really wanting to make an offer but wants to see the home, in person, first.

With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.

If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!

I think every person has a specific specialized need, so if you wanna discuss your situation with me personally, I would love to hear from you. Otherwise, I hope you find these articles interesting and I look forward to talking to you guys soon.

If you are within the at-risk population, and are in need of essentials during this time, or a face mask, please feel free to reach out to me. I would be happy to bring food and supplies to your doorstep. If you are a Santa Cruz business owner, please let me know how the community can support you during this time. I’d love to come by, film, and promote you on social media.

Okay fine, I gave him the one that was more full. Nice wife, mother of the year. Woohoo. And this is where technology fails us or maybe I’m failing technology, but we’ve been trying for over a half an hour to get Ellia into her Zoom dance class, and she really wants to go and I cannot figure it out. Big deep breaths. Okay. I’m so thankful that Ellia is offering to clean our house ’cause it was crazy just a little while ago. It was like a full on manufacturing production company with stuff everywhere. So now she’s really taken initiative and cleaning the whole thing. And this time the negotiation was, depending on the job she does will depend on what she gets paid, but she has different ranges. I was thinking that that would motivate her to do a really excellent job. And so far it seems to be working. Hope you guys are well, hope you’re surviving. I wish that I could share her with you but I can’t. So Ellia has negotiated yet another paid job. And since it’s Tuesday and get our house clean our house clean on Tuesdays. She is doing the whole house. What do you have to say? Thank you, Monique. These are beautiful, Monique. That was so thoughtful of you, and Ellia’s working on your masks for your family too. We’ll have them to you soon. That is a lot of fabric, did you get extra fabric in here? No. Dawn, how did you do that? Did she fold it up and then vacuum pack it? Maybe it was Sadie that did it. Maybe Sadie did do it. Our house is still a mess. I mean our manufacturing production line. Ellia to make me lunch, but look at her gourmet lunch. Hers is like beautiful and looks way more delicious than my dry tuna sandwich. Dry tuna? That looked good, that was the best tuna– Can I taste yours? Mhm. And Josh is here. Josh is gonna fix our hole. That sounds weird. Mom, eat it fast. Factory is up and running. We woke up today and we had two new orders for masks and Ellia is getting busy. She went straight from the bedroom to her sewing machine where she is being quite productive. So since it’s Tuesday, usually on Monday we put the real back in real estate, but it’s Tuesday. And so Ellia said we could ask her any question that we want. I wanna ask her why she didn’t brush her hair this morning. Because I never brush my hair. It’s so lioness. But it’ll go even more out if I brush it. What should I do about that, Jenna? Make my hair straight. You should do a video, let’s do you can straighten my hair today, how ’bout that? Okay, that sounds good. Sounds good. Well we haven’t seen this man all day. What are you talking about? He just comes on in and he’s just like, “What’s for dinner?” What is for dinner? I got a– Maybe– Ellia’s taking a dinner break. Danny is cutting the liner for Ellia’s manufacturing masks. And I am doing her books right now. Writing down her orders, who’s paid and who has not. And also, writing down who’s Venmo’d me because I’m gonna have to give her all that money. After this quarantine, I’m gonna be broke and Ellia’s gonna have all my money. And I’m quite sad about having to cut up all of these T-shirts ’cause I’ve gotten many compliments on these regular old T-shirts. It doesn’t matter you, the crazy thing about Danny is he could literally be wearing a Kirkland brand T-shirt, white, with nothing on it. And I’ll be like in a dress, like I put some effort into the outfit, and we’ll be walking together and 10 people will comment on what a nice T-shirt he’s wearing. It is the weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced in my life and it happens over and over and over again. Ellia where’s your sales book so I can document your orders in the sales in a book? Over there. Can you go get it for me? You need to go to Facebook– I’m just enjoying my break. Maybe a QuickBook account for, hey you should get a QuickBooks account Elia, so people can just pay you on QuickBooks. Also keep track of all of your sales and your clients’ information. We’re doing it the old school fashion way of like in a little black book. Oh yeah, I used to have that. What is it called, a ledger? Yeah, you get ’em at, I got ’em at Staples back in the day I think. And you would write down the person’s name with your best writing. I have horrible handwriting. And then you would put price all the way down.
