Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 27
Day 27 of the Shelter in Place Order was an exciting day in our house. Ellia has been working really hard, making face masks and doing odd jobs for Danny and me, and earned enough money to buy herself an iPhone 11. After having a family meeting last week to discuss the conditions that go along with her getting a phone, we went ahead and put the order in for her phone. So today both her new phone, and mine, arrived in the mail. Her and I were both super excited and played around with them for the longest time. It’s amazing how vibrant and colorful my pictures are now, the iPhone 11 camera is incredible, I can’t wait to make some higher quality videos with my new phone.
Also, just because Ellia achieved her goal of earning and saving enough money to buy a phone, doesn’t mean that she’s done making face masks for the community. She still has to have money coming in, in order to pay her phone bills. That was part of the deal. So if you are currently looking to buy a handmade face mask, please reach out to me and I’ll put your order in with Ellia! She will be happy to make masks for you and your loved ones.
Later on, we got a blue fin tuna delivery from our friend, Kyle, who caught it for us. So with that tuna, we decided to make sushi, as a family. Danny just seared off the beautiful blue fin tuna, I julienned the vegetables and rolled, and Ellia and Danny took turns cutting the roll with the fancy knife. It was not only pretty, but super delicious. How are you spending your quarantine weekends? Have you been cooking meals that you normally wouldn’t?
Another bit of good information in the real estate industry, is that if you are in the middle of a 1031 exchange, that is is a tax deferment exchange from one investment property to the next, and your closing date or the date that you need to identified a property falls during the shelter in place 90 day period, that 45 days is now extended until after July 15th. So don’t feel tons of pressure to finalize your 1031 exchange, but do get it done. If you have any questions let me know. I’m here to help as always.
Stay tuned for Day 28 of Sheltering in Place here in Santa Cruz!

I would be happy to bring food and supplies to your doorstep. If you are a Santa Cruz business owner, please let me know how the community can support you during this time. If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!

Another bit of good information in the real estate industry, Hi Ellia, is that if you are in the middle of a 1031 exchange, that is is a tax deferment exchange from one investment property to the next, and your closing date or the date that you need to identified a property falls during the shelter in place 90 day period, that 45 days is now extended until after July 15th. So don’t feel tons of pressure to finalize your 1031 exchange, but do get it done. If you have any questions let me know. I’m here to help as always. How was your day, Danny? My day was good. What are you making, Danny? Sushi. Where’d we get that fish? Mr. Perione. Thank you Kyle, we’re having sushi for dinner because of you. Hey guys welcome to our channel, right now we’re making homemade sushi. So Danny just, Danny just, Danny just added the carrots to vinegar to give them a little extra bite. Shemeika is julienning the vegetables. We have carrots, we have cucumbers, we have avocado, and then plus Danny just seared off this beautiful blue fin tuna that our good friend Kyle caught for us. So we are gonna be eating like kings and queens tonight and princesses. All right, I rolled and now Danny is going to use his fancy knife and cut. Beautiful, babe. And then this a platter that we got for our wedding and that’s Ellia recording with her new iPhone. That’s my Mom recording with her new iPhone. The color on this is just so good. This my wine or your wine? That’s mine, I’ll take it unless you want some of it. See the one that says– Oh fox on it. Oh for fox sake. Oh for fox sake. That means that’s my wine, and that’s curtesy of my dear friend Heather. Thank you Heather. K, what are you adding now? Caviar. Oh my God, that’s so pretty. So when your Dad goes to the grocery store it’s good because he got saffron and caviar. What about when your Mom goes to the grocery store? She gets a lot of apples. That is so pretty.
