Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 35

On Day 35 of the Shelter in Place Order here in Santa Cruz, I put a blazer on because I had five back-to-back showings, and I haven’t worn a blazer since the shelter-in-place started. So I decided to get a little extra professional. This was the busiest day since the shelter-in-place for real estate for me. And I loved being able to end my busy day at the most exquisite beach house out at La Selva Beach.

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 35And after working all day, it was amazing to come home to Danny and Ellia making the most delicious dinner. They made steak and brussel sprouts in our wood-fire oven, and cream lobster stock and potatoes for mashed potatoes. It was super tasty. We originally got our wood-fire oven to make pizzas, but turns out that roasted veggies and steak that are cooked in there, are even more delicious. I am feeling so thankful to have a husband and daughter that love to cook and make such amazing meals.

What was the best part of your Sunday? What have you been doing for self care?

If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. What do you need help with Danny? Oh master coffee maker, can you please help me and show me the grounds get? I already did the grounds, all you have to do is turn this little knob off. Oh, please show me how to pour the water then? And take this and you just pour it right in here. Oh man. And see everything is on this little towel. Oh, isn’t that incredible. And you have a perfect pour right to the top and then you just put this. Oh if you put it all the grounds are gonna come out. Hey look you put your grounds way too high. Stir it. Ah, look what you got on the counter. Loser. Don’t tell anybody dear lord. Oh my God. Put this right on here. And then you let it do its thing and then you just have one little spot to clean up, just one. And now it’s back to normal. Okay and now for the pour. Danny’s got his rainbow chalice of joy that Ellia made for him. That looks good. Okay, that’s it. That’s a wrap people. If you need to learn how to make coffee or you need me to take you back to your life in a managerial position, I’m available. But apparently people don’t like it. Feeling super good. I have a blazer on and I have back-to-back showings today, it’s Sunday and I haven’t worn a blazer since the shelter-in-place started. So I decided to get a little extra professional today. What are you up to on Sunday? We also tried to order some produce from Love Apple, not produce, plants from Love Apple Farm. So we should be able to pick those up next week and get started on our garden, or I don’t know if started is the right word. Complete our garden, work on our garden. Work on our garden. So that should be fun. And I have one more things to say and now I totally forgot. The one thing you don’t think about when you’re showing property during COVID-19 is when you have to go to the bathroom, you can’t. I just had to rush home as fast as I could and almost didn’t make it because somebody forgot to go on a green light. So there was lots of people honking at them. But I did I made it home. Sometimes your day takes you to the top of the world. And I’m realizing maybe today I shouldn’t have worn a blazer because it is hot on the top of the world. This has been the busiest day since the shelter-in-place for real estate for me. I am just wrapping up with my fourth, no, one, two, fifth client showing today on Sunday, which is crazy. So it is good that I wore my blazer because, you know, I’m a professional. Dinner is gonna be cooked for me when I get home and maybe they’ll be a cocktail waiting when I get home. I kind of feel like it’s that kind of a day. I am ending my day at the most exquisite beach house out here at La Selva Beach and check out that ocean It is not a bad view, not a bad way to end the day. All right, it’s 7:30 and I’m off to home. I got my blazer on and this day is done. I am excited because Danny and Ellia have been slaving over dinner. I just pulled into the driveway and look, there’s a fire blazing. Wow, oh it feels nice. Looks amazing. Mm-hm. And what’s this? That’s beurre blanc. What’s that? That is cream lobster stock and potatoes. Yeah, I said, what that like Ellia used to do. What dat, what dat? Some wood fired brussel sprouts. Mm, I love brussel sprouts. I just made them specially for you. Let’s go take this to the oven. We’ve gone to fancy steakhouses and we’ve cooked in this wood fire oven and vegetables roasted in this wood fire oven are absolutely insanely delicious. But when we bought it originally we just thought it was just gonna be used for pizzas, ’cause that’s what it is, it’s a pizza oven. But roasted vegetables and steak in this oven, I think surpassed my culinary desires and expectations. That’s right. It’s better. Beddah. What that crackling looks like on camera. Around our door and we’ll lock the heat it and tomorrow we’ll have no fire, but we’ll have the heat left in and we’ll make bread. Now we’re poaching lobster tails. Mm. Ala French Laundry-style. What do you do with the butter though, it seems like a waste if you just– We’re gonna take that butter and we’re gonna save it and we’re gonna make lobster lobster crack out of it. Yum. Mm. Mm. What’d you have? I had the lobster with the mash potato. Butter poached lobster with lobster mash potatoes. Did you do it? No.
