Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 45

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020. Day 45. One of the highlights of the day included Ellia making a DIY dress out of Danny’s pants! The funny thing is, it actually looked pretty good. Would you wear this dress?

Another highlight was that I went on a nice walk this morning out to Cowell’s Beach, on West Cliff, it was a gray, beautiful, quiet and there seemed to be a normal amount of surfers in the water. I am shifting my mindset, so that I realize that getting outside is actually my rewards. So now, cleaning the house will have to be subsequent. What do you reward yourself for the difficult or boring things you have to do daily?

And today, Ellia decided to make a little herb box for all the cilantro and basil seeds that have been sprouting. She decorated the box and everything, it turned out beautifully. And Ellia decided it was time to transfer the green beans from the egg carton to the garden box in our backyard. They are growing fast and are taking up a lot of space. She thinks they will do better near the chicken wire fence on our box, so that they can grow up onto it. Have you started a garden during the Shelter in Place? If so, what are you growing?

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market.

Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 45But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.

And some of the work I did today included a Zoom Call with other real estate professionals for continued learning, a in person home tour with gloves and masks, and I helped other clients with virtual property tour via Zoom!

It was a left overs light for dinner. We had some roasted broccoli and cauliflower and some meat that Kyle and Danny collaboratively made. And we have been baking a bread, which we seem to do nightly because we have starter. Thank you, Anne, for our nightly project! Who wants bread?? I can’t keep eating it, though it is delicious. Have a great rest of your day!

Normally on Thursdays, my assistant, Sarah, and I go on Broker’s Tour here in Santa Cruz in order to find the Deal of the Day! Of course, with everything else right now, we will have to do this virtually. My personal favorite new listing of the week is 343 Alamo Avenue! This home is meticulously maintained & stylishly upgraded with too many improvements to list! The interior features an open concept floor plan with natural light, plus hardwood & natural stone floors. Indoor/outdoor living at its best with fully manicured & landscaped front and backyards plus a hot tub & outdoor shower to enjoy the Santa Cruz Lifestyle. The attached bonus room has interior & exterior access and is a perfect spot for your home office and work out room. 343 Alamo Avenue may just be the 2 bed 2 bath home, here on the Upper Westside of Santa Cruz, that you’ve been dreaming of! Let me know if you’d like to see this home in person, or if you’d like more information about it!

Stay well and stay tuned for Day 46 of Sheltering in Place here in Santa Cruz, California!

Oh, and my daughter, Ellia, is still making face masks for people within the Santa Cruz community, so if you are in need of one, let me know and I’ll put an order in with her! Did you know that it is now necessary to wear a face mask whenever you go into any establishment in Santa Cruz? So really, if you need one, let me know and Ellia will make it happen!

If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.

With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.

If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
