Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 46
Day 46 of Sheltering in Place here in Santa Cruz. It’s amazing that during this time of Shelter in Place, I have been realizing more and more how much of an extrovert I am. I need and want to be around people. Being around people and interacting with them fills me with so much joy and fills my soul. So being quarantined is really challenging. How are you? What are you up to? I miss you guys.
After a lot of family deliberation and discussion, we have come to the conclusion that it is going to be best to have my cousin, Lee, come home from Brasil. My grandma needs care and comfort and attention and human connection. We can’t be there, and Lee is her absolute favorite person, and my grandma is 101 years old, she should be able to spend time with her favorite person. We don’t want her to spend the rest of her life being lonely. So, Lee will have to quarantine for 14 days in our back house before she can go stay with grandma and I feel at peace with it. I am so happy that she won’t be lonely cause I love her very much.
Ellia has been sending me a bunch of things from Pinterest about how to make a garage more like an art studio, so that’s cool. And I am down with that, since our garage is a little messy. So Ellia got to work making the cabinets more colorful and artistic.I love it. Would you let your child turn your garage into an art studio?
Today I just did a final walk through of a property, which is the last step before we close escrow. And I am so excited for my friends and my family and my clients. It’s cool that they are all three, it’s the best. I can’t wait to close escrow on their new Santa Cruz home and celebrate with them, Shelter in Place style.
Oh, and my daughter, Ellia, is still making face masks for people within the Santa Cruz community, so if you are in need of one, let me know and I’ll put an order in with her! Did you know that it is now necessary to wear a face mask whenever you go into any establishment in Santa Cruz? So really, if you need one, let me know and Ellia will make it happen!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
