Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 47
On Day 47 of the Shelter in Place, here in Santa Cruz, I rode my bike to the office to jump on a court call for a probate confirmation hearing. We’ve been waiting for about 3 months to finalize and I’ve never done it via court call. I’ve always gone to the court house, and had it confirmed there. But due to the Shelter in Place order, we had to adapt to the new normal. So I was hoping and praying that all the technology was going to work, it’s scary to be reliant on technology for such a big outcome. Have you had to rely on technology for something important in your life during the Shelter in Place?
I’ve been selling probate sales in Santa Cruz for over 12 years, in fact I got introduced to it through the Santa Cruz Public Guardians office., and I’ve been working with them since before Ellia was born. But this was the first time that I have ever had to do an appearance in court through court call and I was so nervous, I did not sleep at all last night. I was afraid that the technology element would not work, but it worked seamlessly and our sale was approved by the judge. And now we get to close! I am super excited for my clients, and grateful that everything worked out. Thank you to the attorneys and the realtors, and our clients for your patience and understanding. It takes a team, now more during this Shelter in Place than ever, to get this done. I am super grateful for the team that I’ve been working with.
And another exciting thing happened today! My friends/family/clients closed on their Soquel home!! It was definitely strange to have to hand over the keys from 6 feet away and not to be able to hug them. But we did get to pop some bubbly, from Clos LaChance, in their new kitchen, which was nice. It was awesome to be able to celebrate with them, from a distance. And I hope they fill this new Santa Cruz home of theirs with lots of love and laughter for years to come. Also, Shannon was wearing her Fox Realty Group shirt to represent too, which I love.

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
