Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 49
On Day 49 of the Shelter in Place, here in Santa Cruz, Danny made me a fancy breakfast in bed. That’s one good thing about Shelter in Place, more time to cook delicious breakfasts! It was a chocolate pancake with vanilla ice cream, topped with saffron caramel and saffron threads. It was absolutely beautiful and delicious Sunday breakfast. Would you eat something this sweet for breakfast?
Later, Ellia and I suited up and headed to the ocean to go surfing with our friend, Karen. The only time that I like to surf, is when I get to surf tandem with Karen, but we aren’t allowed to do that right now because of the social distancing rules during Shelter in Place. But we got to watch all the Karen and all the kids surf at Cowell’s. It was so much fun. And I got to see Taylor “Turtle” Mandell, one of the two Santa Cruz surfers that Fox Realty Group sponsors. It is always nice to see him out in the water, especially with the Fox Realty Group logo on his wetsuit and surfboard. And even though Ellia was initially a little nervous, it was an amazingly sunny day to go surfing here in Santa Cruz and she had a blast! Have you ever been surfing? How was your experience?
And later we had some artichokes outside. One of the perks of living close to the Artichoke capital of the world, Castroville. And Kelsey made sure to say that we are not sponsored by Castroville.
Stay well and stay tuned for Day 50 of Sheltering in Place here in Santa Cruz, California!
Oh, and my daughter, Ellia, is still making face masks for people within the Santa Cruz community, so if you are in need of one, let me know and I’ll put an order in with her! Did you know that it is now necessary to wear a face mask whenever you go into any establishment in Santa Cruz? So really, if you need one, let me know and Ellia will make it happen!
