Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 54
Yesterday was Day 54 of the Shelter in Place order here in Santa Cruz. And one of the crazy things about being home all the time is that I literally go from having a clean kitchen to a messy kitchen in a matter of minutes. I cleaned the whole kitchen yesterday, and now it is just a disaster. So after making a little breakfast, I had to clean it again. But I am super grateful to have a kitchen and to have a home. Trying to look on the positive.
I know that avocado toast has become super hip, costing $10 at restaurants. But I have been eating avocado toast since I was a baby. It’s been one of our staples and favorite meals. I like my avocado toast with tomato and sometimes a little bit of cottage cheese. And our avocado tree is bursting with avocados and I am so excited. Avocados are like gold to me! How do you like your avocado toast?
As I have mentioned before, I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction; that what you focus on expands and putting your intentions into the Universe. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action. So, with that said, I’ve been furiously calling, networking, and checking in with other Santa Cruz Realtors and clients of mine to try and find this unicorn of a home for some clients that have really specific needs. And I just came from a house that I think checks all their boxes, and is fabulous. So I think when you work hard for something and you let the Universe do its job, magical things happen. And the highlight of yesterday was the social distancing 40th birthday party we had for my dear friend Denise! 40 definitely looks good on her! We hung out in our backyard, drank some Chandon, ate some delicious chocolate cake, and danced together! And fun fact, Denise and her husband actually got married in our backyard years ago. How cool is that? Anyway, it was really nice to get to celebrate her, even if it was from 6-feet away. How have you been celebrating birthdays and special occasions during this time? I’d love to hear some of the creative ways you are making your loved ones feel special, despite the current restrictions in place. I am hoping that this will all be over soon, that way we can celebrate in our usual way.
