Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 57
Yesterday was Day 57 of the Shelter in Place Order here in Santa Cruz. And it seems like the real estate market is heating up a bit. Yesterday, I showed my Queen Bee listing, over in Soquel, so that’s exciting. And I’ve also been getting some showing activity over at 159 Via Medici, which we just today reduced from $1,150,000 to $1,104,999! So check it out, it’s a super cute house, very mid-century modern, vaulted ceilings, very colorful and bright. It’s a cool house in a great location!

And yesterday felt like spring because my rose is blooming. Which, this rose was a plant that I picked off the rose plant and had it in a little vase in the house, and it sprouted roots, so I planted it. And now it’s growing, so that’s kinda cool. I love little plant prizes like that.
Later on, I went on a walk, like I was a doctor, to celebrate one of the biggest sales of my career. It was actually the smallest sale of my career, monetarily speaking, but it has been one of the most challenging. But the fact that we were able to get a buyer and close makes it that much more satisfying. So I am super stoked, and I am celebrating by going for a social distancing walk with my cousin.
It was a rainy evening here in Santa Cruz, which I was happy about, since Ella just planted some beets in our garden. And on this evening, I found out that our office is going to be opening up with restricted use. We won’t be able to meet our clients there, but we will be able to start to go to work there. So that’ll be an interesting shift and twist in this situation, because I am so used to working from home. Are your offices opening now too? Are you ready to go back to work? What are your thoughts?

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright.
