Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 66
Yesterday was Day 66 of the Shelter in Place here in sunny Santa Cruz. And when I woke up I realized how crazy my house was. I am a firm believer that if you have a cluttered house, that you also have a cluttered mind. So, I recruited Ellia to help me clean the entire house and put it all back together. That way we could focus and have a clean and clear mind!
After a morning of cleaning, I went to the roof inspection over on Pestana Ave. I am excited to help my clients purchase this super cute house.Part of our job as real estate agents is to make sure that all of our clients questions are answered. So, yesterday we had Daddario Roofing come out and take a closer look and check out the condition of the roof.
Later on, I had the pleasure of showing 159 Via Medici, out in Seascape. And that house is so cute! The house next store is supposed to close and this home is prime, ready to go. But you know? I just totally adore this house. It’s got a lot of character and charm. It is walkable to the Seascape Resort and beach, and all that Seascape has to offer! Let me know if you would like to go take a look in person and I’d be happy to send over any additional information as well.
I also had the pleasure of interviewing Matt Schofield of VinoCruz, he is currently open. They shifted and pivoted during Coronavirus season, and have been selling wine and beer by the bottle and glass. And after the interview, Matt came by and delivered two bottles of wine and our dinner. I was super grateful to have some tasty wine and to not have to cook dinner. So thank you Matt and Ashley Schofield!
Yesterday we got a wood delivery. So you know what that means? We get to make more pizza!
Oh, and I am super excited because our cherry tree is starting to burst with cherries! What’s your favorite fruit?
Alright, I hope you guys are well. Stay tuned for Day 67 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz, California!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
