Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 67
This Thursday was Day 67 of the Shelter in Place Order here in Santa Cruz. And sometimes when you’ve been working so hard on your goals, you forget about the little things that are the most important, which is time with your loved ones. So, at 11:30am I took a bike break with my babe. She wants me to pull her on the skateboard, Back to the Future style. We ended up biking over to the new Cat & Cloud Coffee location on the Westside. Ellia enjoyed a ham and cheese croissant and I got myself a delicious cup of coffee. I am really excited to start back up my ritual of riding bikes to go get coffee, it’s one of my favorite things to do in Santa Cruz cause things are so accessible.
My cousin sent me an article from the New York Times saying that New York is going to start opening up to doing social distancing but also socializing in terms of small group gatherings with other families that are being safe and responsible. So, outdoor entertaining is coming up and I am excited to be hanging out with some people in our backyard and enjoying the beautiful Santa Cruz weather and fire, with our new firewood! Who is ready to start having small social gatherings again?
It’s so interesting to me in real estate, that usually when I end up in a specific neighborhood, either a listing or representing a buyer, it just amplifies. So, I have an escrow currently in the Santa Cruz Gardens, just took on a new listing in the Lower Santa Cruz Gardens, and then I showed property in the Upper Santa Cruz Gardens. So, Santa Cruz Gardens here we go! The backyard at the property I showed is absolutely magical. It’s super quiet and beautiful, and there’s just so many cool features back there, including a koi pond with a water fountain. I love my job.
Alright, I hope you guys are well! Stay tuned for Day 68 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
