Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 68
This past Friday was Day 68 of the Shelter in Place order here in Santa Cruz. And as I made coffee, I was reflecting on my kitchen. And even thought it is not big and glamorous, it is quaint and allows us to prepare the delicious food that we eat on a regular basis. I am even more appreciative of my kitchen and my home and my yard now because we are sheltered in place and are home more regularly than ever before in our lives. So I may not have the grandest kitchen, but I sure do love it. What are you feeling extra appreciative about during this time?
Later on I went to show property in the Los Gatos mountains, and I was masked and gloved up. Man the view from up there was incredible. Talk about full tree line view, it was incredible! I could even hear some roosters next door. It was so charming, country living at it’s finest.
I also wanted to share with you the Fox Favorite Listing of the week, 941 High Street, located on the Upper Westside of Santa Cruz. This is a wonderful single level, custom home, in sought after Westlake School district & near Westlake pond! 3 bedrooms, 2 bath home and almost 1700 square feet of living space, all on a large sunny lot. Hardwood floors throughout, living room with gas fireplace, custom built-ins & a separate family room make this a wonderful home for entertaining your friends and family. The remodeled, gorgeous kitchen with granite slab counter tops, 2 stainless steel kitchen sinks, white inset cabinets, a built-in refrigerator, a wine fridge, Wolf gas cooktop & oven, skylights for lots of natural light, & an Island. The 2 car garage is finished, with of cabinets. The sunny back yard has several areas to entertain, lots of fruit trees & a hidden shed. You’ll love this home! Let me know if you’d like to see this lovely Santa Cruz home in person! I am here to help!
And it was such a beautiful day in Santa Cruz. I showed property all morning and I just wanted to go and be outside. And it made me want to go hiking and biking, and be at the beach all at the same time. There were clear blue skies and apparently the entire Memorial Day Weekend is supposed to be gorgeous as well.
And since it was Friday, I got to treat myself to a Happy Hour with a bottle of wine that my friend Laura brought over. Thank you, Laura! I enjoyed the wine with some friends, from a distance while Ellia had some friends over for a social distancing, tea party with some chocolate almonds. I hope that you guys are all enjoying this beautiful weather! And I hope that you have a fantastic holiday weekend with your loved ones.
Stay well and stay tuned for Day 69 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
