Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 70

Day 70 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. And of course, one of the best parts about Sundays is that Danny brings me coffee in bed. And I definitely needed that coffee to get myself energized for the fun day ahead.

To start off the day, I went on a lovely walk around the Westside with my Prima. It was such a beautiful day here in Santa Cruz. On the walk we talked about how she recently just had her first Moscow Mule. Shout out to Josh for making it and to Jen and Sara for offering it and serving it to her! They prepared it in a blue mason jar, which was so hip. So now, Lee is a proud member of the Moscow Mule community!

Our time having Prima in our back house is coming to an end. In two days she will be going to go stay with my Grandma to keep her company during this time. And since Grandma wants a gin & tonic with Limoncello upon Lee’s arrival, we will have to stop at Venus Spirits for their amazing gin.

Later on, we went to a family party at Shannon and Geoffrey’s new home. They just recently purchased it, on May 1st, and they’ve been working really hard to fix it up. And wow, their progress is really amazing, especially for only owning it for such a short period of time. And they even got a really cute, new kitten as well. It was really fun to be able to hangout and celebrate with them, but the highlight was watching Danny try to skateboard with the kids.

After that family party, we went to another social distancing party at Jaime’s house. And I had a lot of fun watching Madelyn try to eat some meat without getting anything on her face. I hope that you had an incredible weekend with your loved ones.

Stay well and stay tuned for Day 71 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz, California!

4300 Soquel Drive, Unit 226

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.

Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!

If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.

With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.

If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
