Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 73
This past Wednesday was Day 73 of the Shelter in Place in Santa Cruz, but I was actually in Ukiah. We decided to spend the night up in Ukiah, since dropping off my Prima at my Grandma’s house took longer than we thought. My Grandma is so happy that Lee is finally here to help take care of her, so that’s awesome. I was so happy seeing her smile.
And man, it was hot out that day. Ellia and I went on a walk, in the 100 degree weather, to a giant cherry tree! We may or may not have borrowed them from one of my Grandma’s neighbors. But man, were those cherries delicious. And during the walk, I was rocking my new merch, the Fox Realty Group black hat. I really love our new hats, let me know if you still need one! They are made locally in Santa Cruz, and I personally think they are so cute.
My Mom was at my Grandma’s house too, helping out, and she went to the grocery store. It is so funny because my Mom is known for buying some pretty interesting things at the store, and this time bought turmeric and chai ice cream. She was excited because I guess the ice cream cost 16 cents a pint. But I personally thought this ice cream looked like curry chicken. Ellia thought the chai was good but said the longer the ice cream was in your mouth, the more it tasted like turmeric. But she asked for seconds of the ice cream, so she must have liked it…or maybe she was just hot? Would you try turmeric chai ice cream?
It was definitely nice to enjoy a meal and green smoothies by the pool with my family in Ukiah! Alright, I hope you’re well. Stay safe and stay tuned for Day 74 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
