Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 74
On Day 74 of the Shelter in Place, Ellia and I headed back to Santa Cruz, after dropping off my cousin at my Grandma’s house. And I have to say that I really enjoyed our mini vacation in Ukiah. Maybe it takes a little bit of space and a little bit of distance to make you realize and appreciate the things that you have. I enjoyed my time with my family and I am really glad that we got to see each other.
On the ride home we had to go over the San Mateo bridge. And I don’t know about you, but bridges have always petrified me. Maybe because when I was little and we had the 1989 earthquake, I remember seeing on the news bridges swaying back and forth, and the top layer just collapsing onto the bottom layer. And it was really scary seeing that, so now when I am on a bridge, I just hold on tight and hope for the best. Who else is terrified of driving over bridges?
And after surviving the bridge crossing, we made it back to Santa Cruz First thing we did was go and see Danny at his shop! We even got to check out his new logo, and let me tell you, it looks really good!
Once we got home, my other new merch arrived; Fox Realty Group Pop Sockets!! So let me know if you would like a Fox Realty Group hat, t-shirt, sweatshirt, tank top, pop socket, or sticker!! Or if you would like all of the merch. Your support would mean the world to me.
And I got to end my day by writing a counter-offer for my seller, which was super exciting. I love the negotiation part of my job, it’s so fun! Keep you updated on what happens there!
I hope you are well! Stay tuned for Day 75 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
