Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 75
On Day 75 of the Shelter in Place order here in Santa Cruz, my neighbor and friend, Laura, gave me some brussels sprouts that she grew from seeds. They are really cute, and I planted them in our garden box in the backyard. But I feel so much pressure, because I don’t want to kill them. Have you been gardening more since the Shelter in Place order? What are you growing?
One of the many things that I have been grateful for during this pandemic is our outdoor pizza oven. I fought Danny throughout most of our backyard project, asking him not to spend so much money, but he’s usually right. And he definitely was right about the pizza oven. It turned out beautiful and we use it. What do you guys think about an outdoor kitchen/pizza oven? Would it be worth the money to you?
When we first bought the house that we are living in right now, for the closing gift, I bought Danny a little wine fridge at Costco. And if you know Danny, then you know that he wants the best of the best. Which according to his Mom, is why he married me. Anyways, we traded that one in and got this beautiful subzero wine fridge. It has been very generous and gracious to us, and we usually keep it pretty full because we like having people over. But since the pandemic hit, we’ve been going through so many bottles of wine that we have nothing really left that is totally share-able. So I finally got 3 cases of wine to restock our fridge. Come over and enjoy it with me!
Later on in the evening, a few friends came over for a social distancing pizza party. They showed up wearing these awesome fuzzy hats and brought over a delicious chocolate roll cake. They even let Ellia wear one of the hats, and not going to lie, they are pretty awesome. You definitely do not usually see people wearing hats like that in Santa Cruz though.
I hope that you are staying happy and healthy! Stay safe and stay tuned for Day 76 for the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time: We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that will be coming on the market within the next two weeks in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with trees and flowers, a shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. This affordable home is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home before it hits them market. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
