Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Days 80 & 81
On Days 80 and 81 of the Shelter in Place Order, here in Santa Cruz, my daughter graduated 5th grade! We were so busy with graduation parades, ceremonies, and parties, that I hardly took any videos. I am so incredibly proud of Ellia for her accomplishment of graduating from Bay View Elementary! She is becoming a dedicated, determine, caring, kind and passionate young woman. We could not be more proud of her.
And I just want to say congrats to all you grads out there! I hope that you had a great graduation, and felt really special, despite the current circumstances. Graduating is such a huge accomplishment, so soak it in! And I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life!
How did you celebrate your graduates this year? Anything really fun or special? I saw that a lot of the local Santa Cruz schools had parades for their graduates and Scotts Valley High, in particular, hung banners of all the graduates down Scotts Valley Drive. I thought that was a super fun way to celebrate those high school grads during this weird time.
Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 82
On Day 82 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz, I had two appointments before 9am! And it made me feel like things are starting to go back to normal. It was foggy, cool, beautiful, I could smell the beach and it all made me so happy.
I got to meet up with Trevor, from Insight inspections to perform a home inspection. And afterwards, I had to go stop by the office to get a lockbox for my new listing that was coming soon, but is now on the market!! 2220 Twin Hills Drive. It’s a super cozy, easy-breezy living, single-level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath home!
Later on in the day, I got to shoot the home tour video for 2220 Twin Hills Drive! I hope you enjoy these behind-the-scenes shots. One of my favorite parts of my job is making these videos for my clients, it’s a ton of fun.Let me know if you have any questions about this property, or if you’d like to see it in person!
I hope you are staying happy and healthy. Stay tuned for Day 83 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz!

Real Estate Update Time:
We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week, more and more each week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
Also, I have some exciting news!! We have a new listing that just came on the market in Santa Cruz. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is a super cute 3 bed, 2 bath 960 square foot home in a central location in Lower Santa Cruz Gardens. This home has a 2 car garage, a large yard with mature fruit trees and flowers, raised beds, a covered patio, a bonus room/shed, and a nice backyard. And this home is located within walking or biking distance to an abundance of Soquel stores, restaurants, hiking trails, parks, and Dominican Hospital. 2220 Twin Hills Drive is an affordable, and cute as a button, home that is a must see. Please reach out to me if you would like more information on this home. I am happy to help!
If you are currently wondering what the Santa Cruz Housing Market is doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to answer any questions that you may have. But on March 28th, President Trump updated the essential business list and added Residential Real Estate. Meaning, that Realtors are allowed to continue working, while exercising extreme precautions, as mandated by the CDC.
With that being said, if you are currently looking to Buy a Santa Cruz Home, during the Shelter in Place, I would love to assist you in your Santa Cruz Home Search. There is not the usual amount of inventory as we normally see at this time, but mortgage rates are historically low. Now may be a great time to buy, as long as you’re willing to be patient for your dream home to come onto the market.
If you are currently thinking about Selling Your Santa Cruz Home during this Shelter in Place, now may be a great time to put your home on the market. With inventory being low, the demand increases. Meaning, that some homes are seeing multiple offers and bid wars. I’d love to schedule a complimentary and confidential consultation with you to see how Fox Realty Group INC. can creatively market your home!
