Santa Cruz Shelter in Place 2020: Day 87

On Day 87 of the Shelter in Place here in Santa Cruz, our house was being deep cleaned by a company called Clean-Tec, because our washing machine leaked. So now I have to work and live out of our back house. And it is currently de-furnished because I used the furniture back here to stage a listing and we converted it into our at-home gym. So I have to work on the bed in our back house, which kind of was making me feel like I was on vacation.

I have to say, we have been working with Clean-Tec for a couple of days to remediate this water issue we’ve been having with our washing machine. They are so professional and so nice and so efficient. I highly, highly recommend Clean-Tec for any water-remediation that you may need.

Later on, our good friends, James and Suzanne, came over to enjoy a glass of wine with us. And Ellia made some super cute face masks for both of them.She made one with octopi for James and one with foxes for Suzanne! It’s so funny because with the masks on, people look a little scary but also I can never recognize anyone who is waving at me.

On Day 88 of the Shelter in Place, here in Santa Cruz, I made Danny coffee in bed. But since James and Suzanne left some flowers and pie for Ellia’s graduation, we ended up topping Danny’s coffee with some whipped cream!

Later on in the day, I went to show property at my new listing; 2220 Twin Hills Drive in Santa Cruz. And I wanted to show you all the new procedures of how to show property during COVID-19. According to the CDC guidelines, everyone has to wear masks. And the listing agent has to provide wipes, gloves, shoe coverings, a washing station, a garbage can, and masks at the property. After each viewing, we have to wipe everything down and sterilize the home. So, as a listing agent, our jobs just got a little more labor intensive, but we are doing it to keep our clients and the public safe. The extra work is definitely worth it. I am grateful that we are able to work and I am happy to follow the proper guidelines. Real Estate Update Time: 

We’ve seen quite a few new listings come on the market this week, more and more each week. We are about 2.7 months of absorption rate. Which means that it would take 2.7 months for all of the inventory that’s on the market right now, to sell. So, that’s still considered a seller’s market. But despite all that, my client who owns 4300 Soquel Drive #226 is wanting to sell now! And we’ve reduced that property to $379,000, which is a really good deal. It’s in Alimur Park, which is a resident owned park, and the home is absolutely stunning with high ceilings, and it’s light and bright. Check out the Queen Bee Home Tour video of this home, which was entirely my daughter’s idea.
